How do I measure my child's foot for school shoes?

Measure both feet at the end of the day with your child standing. Measure heel to longest toe and add 12–15mm for growing room. If between sizes, always size up.

What makes Start-Rite school shoes a good choice?

Start-Rite has been making children's shoes for over 230 years. Their school shoes feature a wide toe box, proper arch support, durable leather uppers, and come in half sizes and multiple width fittings (E, F, G).

How often should children's feet be measured?

Under-3s every 6–8 weeks; ages 3–5 every 2–3 months; school-age children every 3–4 months. Check shoes at the start of each school term for 12–15mm of growing room at the toe.

Are leather school shoes better than synthetic?

For shoes worn 5 days a week, leather is almost always the better investment. It breathes, moulds to the foot, polishes easily, and lasts far longer. Froddo, Start-Rite, and Bobux all use high-quality leather uppers.
